MEDICAL INFORMATION: Healthy and not able to be injured if he's recently fed. Even if he hasn't fed, he can be injured, but will never die.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS OR TRIGGERS: The only thing that might make him freeze up is mention of cults or religion otherwise warped. It's a sore subject with him.

BACKTAGGING: Go right ahead. If a tag takes longer than a month to come in, then I'll likely just handwave the rest of the thread.

FOURTH WALLING: Basically I'm fine going the whole hog with this character. He's already got a bad sense of self-worth, so learning he's a character in a book will likely lead to a nice little breakdown.

THREADHOPPING: I'm fine with it as long as everyone in the thread is communicating.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS/TRIGGERS: Nothing, I'm fine with just about everything.

ANYTHING ELSE: I'm in PST and generally get to tags in the evening since I work mornings 90% of the time. I try to get to them on a regular basis.

Content warnings: Leo's canon has mention of suicide, school shootings, suicide bombers, torture, and a lot of gory death. Tell me if you want to opt out of any of this.

Abilities: Leo's three primary abilities that will affect your character are thus. The first is being able to tell if someone is a sinner or not. He can do this with a simple look, for a character's shadow looks completely off. This only applies to characters who have done really bad acts: murder, torture, rape, pedophilia, things of that nature.

The second is a passive ability. Sunai cause people to unconsciously be more honest around them. They'll make people tell the truth. Generally, they'll talk about things they would generally like to keep hidden, maybe how they honestly feel about someone, or about something in their past they would rather hide. When a Sunai gets into a high emotional state, it makes people start confessing sins, usually whatever is on their mind at the time.

The last is that Leo can entrance people by playing a song. He can do this using any instrument, barring using his own voice singing. If a character has a soul and working ears, they'll be affected from the first note. Normally, they'll fall into a calm, blissful state, barely able to remember their own name, and willing to confess the worst acts of their life, but in Deerington, this power is warped. Look at his app for more details. If he touches them in this state, he'll drain their soul, which kills them and leaves their eyes burnt out of their skull. I'll never play this out to a full soul-sucking unless I've discussed it with people ahead of time.

1. We've covered this elsewhere already, but Josh here is (against all conceivable odds) a pure soul. We're shocked, too. I don't know if the fact he's contracted a type of lycanthropy would make his soul read any differently, but yeah, there's a sprinkle of wolf on top of his human sundae, lmao.

2. Oh my god??? As someone hiding a boatload of insecurities who'd rather crack jokes until the cows come home than talk about them, this is amazing but so horrible for him??? He's an average human at the end of the day, so I imagine this would affect him like it would anyone else.

That said, he's been taught defensive magic to prevent/be aware of mind-reading and probably other influences like this, so he might be a little more conscious of it happening than some?

3. Same as above! He'd be susceptible. :)

Replying for Rei in Deerington!

1) Rei is not a sinner, and if he can tell that sort of thing, she is actually quite pure. In canon, she's referred to as a goddess, or her reincarnated state is anyway. She has killed before, but it's been in the defense of others or her own life. and it's always been monsters that are particularly evil. At least one may have even twirled a mustache.

2) I'm generally okay with her being more honest, though she does have some psychic defenses that make it so she's not going to give away her secrets about the magical girl stuff. It's sorta baked into her powers, and outlined in her permissions here. Basically, he'll get mundane and boring secrets, but the really special stuff is likely warded.

3) It's a point of canon that enemies use similar abilities and she's shown to be pretty much immune to that kind of power. She's highly resistant to it in human form, and outright immune after transforming. Also her...soul? Isn't quite normal because it's held inside a magic crystal. And comes in the human and martian forms. Not sure how that would interact but I'm not really looking for soul draining. Just trying to be complete!

1. I'm actually not sure what Leo's canon would consider a sinner outside of the usual suspects, hahah. Is he able to distinguish between someone repentant and someone who's not? Would committing a crime and feeling guilt be enough to taint your soul, or is the act only considered and not the reasoning or feelings behind it? Does it count if a person actually thinks they're a real shitty person for all the things they've done? Cause it's kind of.

Awkward?? Morality is so relative depending on who you ask and the culture the character grew up in.

X'rhun's gone through a civil war and a (failed) rebellion, and he's killed more people after both of those happened. Some of those murders he feels bad for, but others he actually feels justified for. Though mostly he feels justified, except for the deaths he committed in the civil war since most of them were his countrymen. He also blames himself for a shitload of things but I don't think those count.

His soul wouldn't be any different from a human's though! Just with a whole lot of life energy. Because he's technically human, his race just evolved differently I guess, idk. Canon's weird.

2. X'rhun's really honest most of the time but I'm okay with Leo unconsciously pulling more out of him because he hides a lot of really personal things like how he feels about himself haaaahahahah. He cant even fight back because he doesn't have any kind of defense for it.

1. Canon is pretty black and white, so even people who are repentant and have committed crimes can taint their soul. Only the act tends to be considered, but since there's a LOT of characters in RP who have killed people, I bend it a little to go more with intent. Regardless, I think Big Kitty would show up as having a sinful soul since he has killed quite a few.

I see I see! Then yeah he's definitely sinful. Like, fucking dark compared to a bunch of others around because he's been fighting for 25 years, since he was 17. He aims to use excessive force or outright kill a lot of the time because he doesn't see anything wrong with it/thinks it's the only way so for like a giant ratio of his kills he feels justified or absolutely nothing at all.

1. I'm pretty sure she'd have a pure soul, despite what she thinks. Chloe has murdered, but she's only ever done it to protect another person, so I don't know if that would count as a sin. Otherwise, everything she's done has been pretty minor, like stealing, lying, drugs, etc. so I don't think those would make her anything bad enough to be seen as a sinner. If I'm wrong though, have at!

2. SHE WOULD HATE THIS, but I would love it, so yes, please make her talk about shit she never talks about. She's just a human so she'd never be able to block this tbh.

3. Sure idc sounds fun, Chloe always ends up in situations like this lmao

Murder in canon always automatically equals a sinful soul, even if it's accidental, but in RP I give a little more leeway since a lot of characters have killed someone. So I'll say it doesn't count unless you want it to.

ALRIGHT SO HERE WE GO

1. This has been something we've touched upon before from their introductory thread but Scarlett is definitely considered a sinner with Leo's canon. As a Demon, she has the ability to psychologically torture others. It's a bit shades of grey because her Calling is not something she always controls and using it is something she has to do so choice is usually thrown out the window.

As for using her abilities to torture: sometimes she's done it without intent and sometimes she's done it with intent. When she hasn't intended it, she's almost always guilty - she's only sometimes guilty when she has intended it. She's not the worst of demons but she's definitely not squeaky clean either. So yeah, tl;dr: sinful soul right here, I'd say?

2. Due to the nature of Scarlett's abilities, this also gives her some protection against other mental abilities that are used on her. She's not completely off-limits, it just maybe takes a little time before she'd start telling the truth. Just a more heavier door to budge, sort of speaking. She'll likely feel something pulling at her and will appear as if she's trying to fight it.

3. Again, she will take a little longer to fall under compared to others who'll fall at the first note but unless she gets away from him or stops him, she'll soon fall under too!

1. Moira is absolutely a sinner. She's done some pretty awful shit and she'll be the first to admit to it.

2. Getting her to be more honest is fine. She doesn't really need it to confess her sins though, she's got like. Zero shame in anything she's done. So I don't know how different she'd act tbh.

Since I'm joining in on the panic at the disco I am intrigued by these abilities and thought I'd comment! Also have a philosophical dilemma with sinner/saint stuff.

1) The only sinful thing Lance has done is kill. But does Leo's canon consider context? If a character was pulled into a war against a tyrannical and evil intergalactic alien empire and they have killed enemies in battle, are they a sinner? Otherwise, I'd say Lance is pretty damn pure, so much so that it feels strange to say he's sinned at all even if he's killed in war.

2) Leo can totally make him tell the truth, he's very susceptible to that sort of thing.

3) And he'd also be extremely susceptible to being entranced by a song. That is a-okay!

Well, Leo's canon is really strict, as even manslaughter or accidentally killing someone can darken a soul. But since this is RP land and I go a bit more loosey goosey, I tend to go with more what someone thinks the intention behind their character's killing was. Since that can be a deciding factor as to whether the soul shows up sinful or not.

Ahhh, alright! His intention is to protect and save, and he never got enjoyment from it. And I don't mind him being sinful, actually. It does feel strange to call him such, but it would also be an interesting mind fuck for him to have his soul weighed and judged in such black and white terms.

1. Haha yeah Franciscus would totally count as a sinner. He's murdered someone and tried to hide it, which would have resulted in someone else getting scapegoated.

2. Franciscus is a pretty casual liar, so he'd probably notice the influence pretty quick, and probably try to stay away from Leo after that.

3. Entrancing him with music is perfectly fine! He doesn't have any resistances against effects like that.
